As part of our commitment to Vision and Road Safety, we work to address critical issues such as the impact of vision on road safety, the prevention of fatalities and injuries, and the promotion of mental health awareness and well-being as crucial factors in accident prevention. IVI is actively engaged in building alliances with organizations across sectors involved in road safety, including policymakers, NGOs, and other stakeholders.

The ‘Alliance for Road Safety’ meetings address road safety concerns, exploring possibilities for greater  collaboration, advocacy, and finding innovative solutions to ensure safer roads for all.

Defensive Driving Training

One of our initiatives is the Defensive Driving Training for Safer Roads campaign, which has equipped several thousand bus and truck drivers with essential defensive driving skills. This program covers a range of topics essential for road safety, including defensive driving techniques, traffic regulations, risk assessment, emergency response procedures, and fostering a positive road safety culture.

Vision Screening
Commercial Vehicle Drivers

We conduct vision screenings for commercial vehicle drivers nationwide. By identifying and addressing potential vision impairment issues among drivers, our campaign aims to mitigate the risk of accidents caused by impaired vision. We tailor our approach to accommodate the diverse demographics of drivers, considering linguistic and cultural differences, to achieve our safety objectives and create a conducive environment for safe road navigation.

Mental Health Awareness

Recognizing the mental health challenges faced by truckers in India, we have integrated mental health awareness into our vision screening program. Statistics reveal that a significant portion of long-haul truck drivers experience mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and stress. Through our efforts, we have reached out to over 30,000 drivers between July 2023 and March 2024, raising awareness about mental health and promoting well-being among this vulnerable population.
