Awareness and Advocacy are integral to our activities and programs. Working with beneficiaries, our vision screening campaigns and education programs ensure creation of awareness on eye health issues, the importance of eye check-ups & benefits of vision correction, and the benefits and how a pair of corrective glasses can help.
Whether it is a school vision screening program or a campaign in a community for underprivileged people - through posters, leaflets and word-of-mouth, our teams ensure that the message reaches where it is required most.
Advocacy initiatives ensure that the message is conveyed to our Key Publics, who include policymakers, strategic allies and partners, corporates, educational institutions, media and the broader public - through ‘Walk in the Dark’ campaigns, proactive media relations, social media, and other innovative approaches.
WALK IN THE DARK
IVI's Walk in the Dark campaign aims to raise awareness about preventable blindness and the importance of eye care.
The campaign sensitises citizens to vision impairment issues, the importance of sight tests and regular check ups.
The participants, all blindfolded, are led by blind and visually impaired children, to let others experience first hand what the visually challenged face.
Walk in the Dark also aims to draw attention towards uncorrected refractive error and to show how a pair of spectacles can improve vision.
The campaign brings together students, actors, diplomats, corporate heads, executives and others.
