Session I - Low Vision Assessment
Addressing the tremendous need to keep educating practicing optometrists nationally and concentrate on the requirement of professional development among the Indian optometry practitioners, IVI launched online seminars for optometry professionals.
The first session of this series was conducted on Friday, 28 August 2015. Focused on “Low Vision Assessmentâ€, the one hour seminar was facilitated by Mr Hasan Minto- Director, Global Sustainable Service Development, Brien Holden Vision Institute.
The seminar was attended by 45 optometry professionals including practitioners, educators and post graduate students across the country. Mr Minto spoke about assessing the residual visual function, suggesting suitable interventions to a low vision patient, various optical and non-optical devices available, referring to appropriate service provider and much more.
