Session IV - Refractive Prescribing for Athletes
Addressing the visual needs of an athlete, the fourth online seminar for optometry professionals was conducted on 19 May 2016. The one hour seminar was facilitated by Prof. Graham Erickson (OD, FAAO, FCOVD), Pacific University College of Optometry - Oregon, USA.
The seminar was attended by optometry professionals including practitioners, educators and postgraduate students across the country. Prof. Erickson discussed options to enhance visual performance by using methods for refractive compensation, sports-protective eye wear, filters to enhance visibility, visual performance training and nutrients that enhance visual performance. Visual enhancement training videos supplemented his talk and this was greatly appreciated by the participants.
