Workshop on Ocular Prosthesis

IVI organized a one day intensive workshop on ‘Ocular Prosthesis’ in collaboration with Department of Optometry, Amity Medical School, Amity University, Gurgaon on 1 February 2017.

Facilitated by Mr Sachin Gupta – Director, Art Eyes, New Delhi, the workshop focused on introduction to Ocularistry, disfigurement of eye, making and fitting of prosthetic eyes, recent advancements in Ocular prosthesis and managing ocular discharge. This was followed by a live demonstration of procedures involved in making of prosthetic eye with a hands-on session.

The workshop was attended by over 50 Optometry practitioners, educators and students including Amity University-Gurgaon; Jamia Hamdard University-New Delhi; Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, PGIMS-Rohtak; AIIMS-New Delhi; Rajsan Eye and Contact Lens Clinic-Mumbai; ICARE Eye Hospital-Noida; Good luck Opticals-Jaipur. 

This is the first workshop under the Optometry School Development Project initiated by IVI with 6 Optometry institutions across the country. The workshop was awarded 05 credit points by Optometry Council of India (OCI).
