38th Low vision Awareness Program (LAP)

The 38th Low vision Awareness Program was held on 14th and 15th Sep, 2017at LVPEI's KAR campus in Hyderabad.  The program was conducted in collaboration with India Vision Institute and supported by Charities Aid Foundation, India.  

The two day program was attended by 33 delegates from across India and Bangladesh; the participants included Ophthalmologist, optometrists, optometry students, and low vision practitioners. There were about 8 faculty members who facilitated the workshop out of which 6 were internal and 2 were international.
  
Topics of presentations ranged on various aspects of low vision assessment such as patient assessment with low vision, optics of magnification, approaching near magnification, overview of low vision and rehabilitation services, vision rehabilitation of special population, assistive technology and management of low vision. In addition to didactic lectures, participants were divided into groups to have hands-on-sessions on basics of assistive devices and multidisciplinary low vision rehabilitation services.
