The Art and Science of Contact Lens Fitting - Moradabad

India Vision Institute (IVI) in association with C L Gupta Eye Institute (CLGEI) and Bausch + Lomb (B+L) had organised a day long workshop titled “The Art and Science of Contact Lens Fitting” on Dec 8th, 2013. The program was held at C L Gupta Eye Institute auditorium in Moradabad – Uttar Pradesh. Over 120 optometry professionals were benefited by this unique event which included practitioners, educators and students from north India - The one day program was supported by India Vision Institute.         

The day started with the welcome note by Dr. Ashi Khurana (Director C L Gupta Eye Institute) followed with the lighting of the lamp by C L Gupta family members and other guest. The speakers for the workshop were Mr. Nilesh Thite (Director of Educational Programs, International Association of Contact Lens Educators), Mr. Pushpender Singh (Professional Services Executive, Bausch + Lomb), Mr. Khemraj (Professional Services Executive, Bausch + Lomb) and Mr. Abhishek Kalbarga (Senior Program Manager, India Vision Institute) 

The workshop intended at teaching the participants about ‘contact lens’ fitting techniques, benefits and care-regime. The event also gave an opportunity for the participants to view live feed of soft contact lens fitting techniques with the help of high resolution slit lamp video projector. Role play activities were also performed which demonstrated interactions between a patient and a practitioner in routine Optometry clinics. The session winded up with an open discussion and quiz followed by feedbacks, queries and comments from the participants. The program came out to be a huge success enlightening most of the participants who gained perspective after the workshop.
